Link pimping: DIY basic web marketing 10/06

The internet is essentially made up of links from one site to another. Without these links the web would be a disparate collection of unsorted information. Many popular search engines depend on these reciprocal links which form a vital part of any website promotion effort. To ensure your website has the visibility it deserves you will need other websites to point to yours.

Finding suitable websites to gain in-bound links is key. So, we have put together a short guide on the subject along with a handy compilation of valuable website directories, providing you with the means to DIY basic website promotion. Click here to view the Exchange page.

Without some of the various limitations or practical parameters of commercial projects we have devised a self initiated project to discover new artistic talent and demonstrate our own creative skills. Subcircle Creative are collaborating with local artists to produce a selection of experimental graphic images which we intend to exhibit in Brighton in early 2007.

If you would like further information on the project or have some work to submit please email us at studio(at)subcircle.co.uk

Spotlight:

Better by design

Commercial websites are losing out to potential new contracts through poor design, despite businesses spending vast amounts of money on paid-for search engine listings.

Many websites today are still being built using out of date technology that isn't effectively meeting the requirements of successful search engine optimisation.

A well designed website should appear in natural search engine listings through good design practices using well thought out content instead of simply ploughing vast amounts of cash into expensive paid-for campaigns.

Our clients have found that their marketing budgets have been better spent on developing well designed sites that are both search engine friendly and offer a better user experience.
